Cool. And... (I'm just guessing here) I bet "dermis" is a Latin (or Greek?) word for skin, and "epi" means something like Outer or Outside. Am I close?

I'm going to look at the diagram again. That's cool.

I looked up epidermis. It could be Late Latin, but most of the definitions said from the Greek... "epi" meaning "on" and "derma" meaning "skin". I should have known that -- at least "epi", because I took Greek for 4 semesters (2 of ancient Greek, 2 of New Testament Greek).

I was hoping it was Latin, to tie it in with the kids' studies. Rats.
